ChronoPhase works at the intersection of time, computation, physics, mathematics, and machine intelligence. We are looking for a small number of exceptional people who want to work on difficult problems, test unconventional ideas rigorously, and help turn frontier research into real systems.

OPEN POSITIONS

RESEARCH SCIENTIST

Open problems where the method is not settled yet. You will design experiments that are capable of failing, and report the ones that do.
APPLIED MATHEMATICIAN

The formal structure underneath the work. Analysis, probability, statistics, dynamical systems, and whichever parts of algebra, geometry, and topology turn out to matter.
COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICIST

Simulation and numerical work on physical systems, plus the harder half of the job, which is deciding whether a result is real.
AI RESEARCH ENGINEER

Machine intelligence as a working tool and as a research subject. Training, evaluation, and the design of tests a model can actually fail.
SYSTEMS ENGINEER

The substrate everything else stands on. Performance, correctness, timing, and tooling, mostly in Rust and adjacent stacks.

If none of these is quite you but the work is, apply anyway and tell us what the role should be called.

HOW WE WORK

Claims are falsifiable. Every result travels with the test that could have killed it.
Negative results count. A result that shows nothing is still a result, and we say so.
We would rather learn we are wrong early than stay confident and be late.
Small team, long problems, high autonomy, very little ceremony.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Real depth in at least one of mathematics, physics, machine learning, or systems engineering, and genuine curiosity about the rest.
A record of finishing hard things, in whatever form that took: papers, proofs, code, hardware, or shipped products.
Comfort being wrong quickly and in public, and the habit of attacking your own result before anyone else gets the chance.
Credentials are read carefully. They are not the filter. Show us the work.

ON WHAT WE CAN SAY HERE

ChronoPhase is pre-release and privately held. Specific systems, methods, and results are not described publicly while the work is in development. Protecting the intellectual property is part of the reason, and the constraint is deliberate rather than a screening device.

Candidates who reach a technical conversation are given as much context as the stage allows, under a mutual nondisclosure agreement, so they can judge the work and decide whether they want it. Nothing on this page is a claim about capability, performance, novelty, or results.

We do not use an external applicant tracking service. Your application comes to us and stays with us. Upload your materials as attachments on a single email, following the five steps below.

Substitute the position you are applying for and your own name. If more than one role fits you, name the one you want most and say so in the note.

One file, PDF only, 10 MB or less. Combine everything into that single document. Links to public work are welcome inside it.
Include, in this order Your resume or CV. Then one page, no more, on a hard problem you worked on, drawn only from work you are free to discuss publicly: what you expected, what actually happened, and how you tried to break your own result. Then any public work you want read first, such as papers, preprints, repositories, or patents.
Tell us where you are In the body of the email, give your location and your time zone. Then answer two questions: are you legally authorized to work in the country where you would be based, and will you now or in the future need visa sponsorship? Yes or no to each is all we need. Please do not send citizenship details, visa papers, or identity documents at this stage.

Attachments only. Please do not send links to private repositories, shared drives, or file services that need an account or a login to open.

We are a small team working at speed, so we are able to reply only to candidates we want to speak with. If you do not hear from us it is not a verdict on your work. Materials may be kept on file for a limited period in case something opens up that suits you better.

CONFIDENTIALITY, PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING

Do not include confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information belonging to a current or former employer, a university, or anyone else, and do not send anything covered by an existing nondisclosure or confidentiality obligation. If your best work cannot be described publicly, say that it exists and describe only the shape of it. We will understand, because we are in the same position.

Unsolicited technical proposals, inventions, designs, or ideas sent to us are received on a non-confidential basis, create no obligation of confidence or compensation, and are not treated as a submission for evaluation or purchase. If we take a conversation further together, a mutual nondisclosure agreement comes first, and technical specifics belong in that conversation rather than in an application.

YOUR DATAMaterials you send are used only to evaluate your application. ChronoPhase is responsible for them. They are not sold, are not passed to a third-party recruiting or screening service, and are kept only as long as there is a reason to keep them.
